It Pays to Snooze

That fun little saying of "you snooze, you loose" well the debate is on. In a recent study 39 adults were placed in a napping and non-napping groups. They would have both groups perform a learning exercise at noon, then take a 90 minute nap and then at 6pm they would learn again.
The napping group performed remarkedly better than the non-nappers.

There have been so many studies on sleep, how long, how much, what hours are best...well this one pertains to me so I had to investigate it. So, as a student, when I am studying I should work awhile then nap awhile - right? The thought is nice I must say.

Their point is that the hiccocampus, the area of the brain that allows you to store fact-based memories, does better when stimulated then rests or reboots and allows you begin again refreshed. Versuses those whos brains keep going and don't rest. So essentially if you snooze - you win.

I don't know about you but I don't have time for naps. My schedule is really tight as it is. But maybe if I could reorganize a wee bit then I could squeeze one in and what do you know - a would ace that History test!!! I'll make a note of that.
